Getting to Lilly Pond Creek from Barrows Millpond is simple, and a wonderful spot for whitewater paddling is Roanoke River. At Barrows Millpond through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's, and the overnight is quite chillier of course, usually in the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Barrows       Millpond sink into the 20's. A splendid site to camp here at Barrows Millpond is The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads; a great nearby hotel is Best Western Roanoke Rapids.
