     This is a pleasant neighborhood for people who like lakes. Kings Pond is a lake nearby, and Atlantic Coastal Plain is a magnificent place. Not far from Barbours Lake you obtain some nice water scenery at Barbours Lake Dam. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites HOPE MILLS is a great place to spend a night or two, and playing golf is lots of fun at Hope Mills Golf Course. Be careful coming to Barbours Lake, you  
   might not ever wanna return back home again. There's whitewater on Little River for all you adrenaline kick people, and hey, Stewarts Creek is a brilliant local stream.
During the long summer days, highs frequently are in the 80's at Barbours Lake. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are typically in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Barbours Lake. Nearby lakes? Sure, Upchurches Pond is
 
               close to Barbours Lake; if you came for an overnight stay Lazy Acres is a brilliant place to camp. While you're here at Barbours Lake you will meet lots of folks from nearby Fayetteville, and if you need a spot to stay Value Place Fayetteville CD is a nice choice.
Barbours Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the wettest month of the year is generally July, that's the one that rains the most, and November on the other hand is the driest.

I can be reached at, yellowcheeks2001@yahoo.  We just bought a boat and don't know of any good size lakes to go to. If you know of a good spot, let me know....Good Lake for canoeing, but you have to stay near the creeks or geat a membership for 120 or so....

Smith Lake

Smith lake is a nice place to camp, bike ride and swim. I have 3 young children and they had a BLAST! We plan on going again very soon. Bathrooms were clean and out of some of the campsites I've been to this is the one I like....Nice area for hiking, running, mt biking.  Also nice beach area for the summer....
