Go to Bakers Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. After a long day outdoors Sleep Inn ,Inn & Suites is a good spot to spend a night or two; why not camp at Lazy Acres while you're here at Bakers Pond. This lake is so wonderful. There is a wonderful hiking trail in the neighborhood of Bakers Pond called the Group Camp Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Spring Lake-Ft. Bragg/Pope Afb. Bakers Pond is a rather wet place generally with a great deal of precipitation; most of the rain falls through July while November is generally the driest month. Bakers Pond really is in the middle of a charming outdoors paradise. A lake close by is Smith Lake, and glide down the rapids of Cape Fear in a kayak. All through the summertime months at Bakers Pond highs are generally in the 80's with nighttime lows | |

in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 40's; nighttime lows through the wintertime for Bakers Pond tend to be in the 20's.
Camping is available at Fayetteville Koa, and great water scenery is available at Lewis Lake Dam
near Bakers Pond. Going for a hike on the American Beech Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and if you're going to from Dunn, you won't be the only one. There are tremendous locations to look at along the Little Creek Loop Trail; if you come at the right time of year, Upper Little River offers some splendid whitewater.
