The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Assembly Lake. While you're here at Assembly Lake you can play some golf at Black Mountain Town Golf Course, and Assembly Lake is not the only place nearby, Black Mountain Reservoir is a nearby lake. This lake is so wonderful. The Bald Mountain Trail offers hiking at       its best; a lake close by is Camp Ridgecrest Lake. Assembly Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Sycamore Flats Family Campground is a nice local campground, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Wolf Laurel if you're here. Just can't get enough of Assembly Lake. If you crave a little side journey, try Buck Gap, and if you come at the right time of year, Rocky Broad River offers some pleasant whitewater. This lake is so                  wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Curtis Creek in a kayak, and Blue Ridge Parkway is one of the destinations that are splendid to pop by close by. You definitely must adore the Blue Ridge Mountains. A splendid nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Black Mountain, and don't forget to take a good little trip to Barn Branch. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Assembly Lake. A splendid view of picturesque Evans Knob is available from Assembly Lake, and Camp Ridgecrest Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out. Fortune Field is a tremendous place to check out, and what would winter be without some skiing at Ski Beech. These mountains rock, just check out all the entertaining stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Camping at K O A Kampgrounds is always a great experience, and if you need a location to stay Super 8 Black Mountain is a good choice. Man, is there loads of fun stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
