     Go for a hike on the Uwharrie Jeep Trail. Lakes? Sure, Lake Wood is in the vicinity. The scenery at Asheboro Country Club Lake Dam in the neighborhood of Asheboro County Club Lake is beautiful, and J B White Lake is a brilliant lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Holly Bluff Family Campground is a fine local campground, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites ASHEBORO is a brilliant spot to spend a night or two. Lots of folks from  
   Lexington-Thomasville come to Asheboro County Club Lake; near Asheboro County Club Lake you locate a golf course called Tot Hill Farm Golf Club.
Lots of rainfall falls at Asheboro County Club Lake; through the month of June you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is April. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll like Asheboro County Club Lake. Banjo Creek RV Resort & Campground is a perfect campground nearby; Days Inn Asheboro is a good site to
 
               get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Birkhead Trail is always a wonderful adventure.

Banjo Creek RV Resort & Campground is located in Asheboro, NC, home of the NC Zoological Park (The NC Zoo). Also nearby are trail heads of the Uwharrie National Forest, The World Class Potters of Seagrove, and the Uwharrie River.

Banjo Creek Resort features 140 full and partial hook up sites for RVs, and several tent sites as well. The Little River runs along one side of the park, and walking trails are throughout our 33 acres. We also have a stocked fishing pond. Other amenities include a Jumping Pillow, a swimming pool, a kiddie pool, miniature golf, community campfires, a 2800 sq. Ft. Deck at the lodge (for dances and other music events), Country Store, game room, WiFi, weekend activities, and on Saturday mornings we have ''The Best Breakfast in Camping. ''

My wife and I decided to give this route a try, and we found that a couple of miles down river from the put-in site, there is a big dam that is at least 20 feet tall with no way around it.  We ended up walking 2 miles back to the car to come pick up our kayaks.  When we got home we looked at satellite pictures using google maps and it looks like there are 2 more dams before you would reach the take out site.  I do NOT recommend this route. Paddlers beware!...

...igh flowing over the bridge at Low River bridge on SR 1301, our putin point. With the water that high the current was swift with a lot of low lying trees dwarfing the banks. We no sooner put in and the second canoe got caught in the current and capsized. We in the third were unable to upright it before it became lodged between two trees with the current making it impossible to free it. We were able to recover the two boys and rejoin with the first canoe which had continued on downstream. Long and short of our adventure we all made it to Morrow Mtn State Park in about 5 hours time in two canoes (11:30 AM - 4:30 PM). We stayed to the center of the river as much as possible and negotiated the rapids without mishap. It was very unpredictable with alot of unsuspecting trees in the middle of the river (sumerged islands). We then returned to Low River Bridge to recover the lost canoe. The water was now some four to five feet lower clearing the bridge. With much of the pressure of the current on the canoe now gone we were able to free it and get it out of the river.
