Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! The Blue Ridge Mountains is excellent! From Lake Ashe you obtain a wonderful panorama of Frenches Knob, and camping at Greenfield Campground is always a wonderful experience. Whitewater paddling is perfect on New River - South Fork, and fine hiking is available along the Bearpen Trail. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Blue Ridge Mountains has to offer. If you       get bored of Lake Ashe, you could also visit nearby Ashe Lake, and get soaked paddling on Elk Creek. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Ashe; Sugar Maple Trail is a great local trail, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Eldreth At Mount Jefferson is a pleasant site to spend a night or two. Lake Ashe is a beautiful lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You'll meet a lot of people from Boone here. High temperatures at Lake Ashe through the                  long summer days are in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Lake Ashe fall into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. There's perfect hiking along the Scales Trail, and camping is available at Raccoon Holler Campground. Now, you may think that's loads but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Lake Ashe. Lake Ashe is not the only site close by, Fleetwood Falls Lake is a close by lake, and there's some flowing water nearby, Beaver Creek is a stream you can stop by during your stay. This lake is so wonderful. There's some exciting stuff to see at Ashe Lake Dam in the vicinity of Lake Ashe, and Nations Inn is a good location to get some rest.
