Ashe Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Raccoon Holler Campground is a great local campground; in the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on New River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Ashe Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Greenfield Campground is a brilliant spot for that, and going for a hike on the Scales Trail is                  always a good adventure. Ashe Lake generally gets much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is usually July, that's the one that rains the most; November is the month with the least moisture.
