     If only every location had this much outdoors enjoyable stuff, what a great earth it would be. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Thunderhole Creek. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake has to offer, you can camp at Morgan's Mountain Retreat. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Having a tremendous time in the Blue Ridge Mountains is  
   easy. Boone Fork has a perfect whitewater paddling spot nearby, and don't forget to take a great little tour to Aho Branch.
For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake get into the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake nighttime low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. A good
 
               site to go to near Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake is Happy Valley. Lakes are magnificent; Chetola Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake. Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake is a wet spot that gets a great deal of precipitation; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is December.
And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do right next door to Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake. The skiing at Hawksnest is nice, and dry warm beds await you at Fairfield Inn & Suites Boone. Why not check out Appalachian Ski Mountain Dam since you're here, and if you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express BOONE is a tremendous choice. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Sky Ranch is a nice place for that, and Blackburn Knob is clearly visible from Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake.
But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Near Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake you locate the Daniel Boone Scout Trail which is a good hiking trail, and during your journey here you'll meet some folks from Boone for sure. Sugar Mountain is a great local ski area, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Bass Lake. Enjoy a round of golf at Boone Golf Club not far from Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake, and going for a hike on the Yancey Ridge Trail is always a delightful adventure.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains.
