     The beauty of Allison Lake attracts many people from all around. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Allison Lake while night lows are commonly in the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Allison Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Grassy Camp Creek is a stream that you may encounter while here, and Allison Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Van Hook Glade Campground is  
   a nice local campground. These mountains rock, just look at all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If you need a spot to stay Old Edwards Inn and Spa is a perfect choice, and going for a hike on the Shortoff Mountain Trail is always a glorious adventure.
You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff at Allison Lake. Head up to Scaly Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, and a scenic lake like Whiteside Lake is a great
 
               place to stop at. Go for a hike on the Whiteside Mountain National Recreation Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Norton Creek offers some brilliant whitewater. Whiteside Lake Dam is not far at all from Allison Lake, and one of the major highlights of the surroundings of Allison Lake is Goat Knob.
A good deal of precipitation falls at Allison Lake; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. There's so much to do here at Allison Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Arrowmont Stables and Cabins is a great spot for that, and the snow is great at Sky Valley. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors The Inn at Half Mile Farm is a splendid place to spend a night or two, and don't leave Allison Lake without first going for a hike along the Ellicott Rock Trail.
If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Allison Lake. Nearby Shortoff Gap is a good location to go if you're at Allison Lake; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Cullasaja River. You completely should love the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lakes are such calm places, why not check out Hidden Lake in close proximity to Allison Lake, and a round of golf at nearby High Hampton Inn & Country Club is a great way to kill some time. Man, is there plenty of amusing things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
