The high level of rain makes Allison Lake a quite wet site; during March this area sees the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Arrowmont Stables and Cabins is a magnificent spot to camp, and some close by water includes Grassy Camp Creek. There is a perfect hiking trail near Allison Lake called the Whiteside Mountain National       Recreation Trail, and if you're a golfer then a perfect close by course is High Hampton Inn & Country Club. So many cool things to do at Allison Lake, so little time. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Sky Valley is in close proximity to Allison Lake, and Allison Lake is not the only spot nearby, Hidden Lake is a nearby lake. Now, you may feel that's plenty but there's even more fun things to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Summertime highs at Allison                  Lake generally tend to be in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. Highs throughout the wintertime are commonly in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Allison Lake. And if that's not enough there's a lot more fun things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Van Hook Glade Campground is a perfect local campground; here at Allison Lake you can distinguish Goat Knob. This lake is so wonderful. Near Allison Lake you find the Ellicott Rock Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and after a long day outdoors Old Edwards Inn and Spa is a magnificent location to spend a night or two. This spot is excellent, just look at all the cool things to do in close proximity to Allison Lake. Looking for something in close proximity to Allison Lake? Whiteside Lake is close at hand; The Inn at Half Mile Farm is a tremendous location to get some rest. Just can't get enough of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A pleasant spot for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Allison Lake is Cullasaja River, and a glorious spot is Shortoff Gap. A day on the slopes of Scaly Mountain is just what you need, and get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Norton Creek.
