So many cool things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not enough time. Skiing at Sugar Mountain is one of those things you just ought to do; you can go for a hike on the Yancey Ridge Trail. At A S U Dam near A S U Lake there are some out of the ordinary things to see, and Red Carpet Inn Boone is a nice site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Very beautiful scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Hawksnest,       and Doe Fork is close to A S U Lake and is always a joy to pop by. Waterwheel RV Park is a great local campground, and going for a hike on the Daniel Boone Scout Trail is always a glorious adventure. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Get your heart beating on the nice whitewater of Boone Fork, and dry warm beds await you at Smoketree Lodge (Vri). There's just no way somebody can get bored here at A S U Lake. A S U                  Lake is a good location to visit for more than one day, Flintlock Family Family Campground is a good location to camp nearby, and Howard Knob is clearly visible from A S U Lake. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to A S U Lake with nighttime lows in the 50's. Highs during the winter are generally in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at A S U Lake temperatures descend to the 10's. All the water falling down from the sky makes A S U Lake a wet location; throughout May this area sees the most rain; December on the other hand is the driest. Be careful coming to A S U Lake, you might not ever want to go back home again. Nearby Buckeye Gap is a great spot to go if you're at A S U Lake; Boone Golf Club is a tremendous golf course close by. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Potato Hill Lake, and there's whitewater on Watauga River for all you adrenaline people. This place, the Blue Ridge Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining things. Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Boone here.
