    Yankee Jim Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Nearby lakes? Sure, Aldridge Lake is near Yankee Jim Lake; Dome Mountain is beautiful and can be distinguished from here. Yep, outdoors entertaining things to do are really bountiful here at Yankee Jim Lake. Quaking Ash Hollow is a nice location to check out close by, and Yankee Jim Campground and Picnic Area is a delightful local campground. Yankee Jim Lake is a location that  
   is relatively dehydrated typically; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is February.
This lake is so wonderful. You could also go to Green Lake while you're here at Yankee Jim Lake; it's nearby; if you come at the right time of year, Yellowstone River offers some fine whitewater. A visit to Cinnabar Basin rejuvenates the spirit; a splendid close by hotel is Best Western Mammoth Hot Springs.
 
               Carbella Campground is a good campground nearby, and there is a splendid hiking trail close by called the Sportsman Lake Trail.
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Mulherin Creek, and Yellowstone Park North Travelodge is a great spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a splendid little journey to Cottonwood Creek, and going for a hike on the Pole Gulch Trail is always a great adventure.
The warmest time of the year at Yankee Jim Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's while Yankee Jim Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's.
