If you are traveling by, why not stop by Lake of the Woods. This lake is located in the wonderful Absaroka Range. At Lake of the Woods during the summertime highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake of the Woods temperatures drop to the 10's. You truly have to love the Absaroka Range. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Clarks Fork

| | Yellowstone; there is a glorious hiking trail nearby called the Pilot Creek Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Soda Butte Campground is a wonderful local campground, and the Thunderer Cutoff Trail is a nice hiking trail nearby. If you come at the right time of year, Boulder River offers some great whitewater, and Lake of the Woods is a great site to visit for more than one day, Colter Campground is a great site to camp nearby. to enjoy this site. Lake of the Woods is not the only place nearby, Lake Abundance is a nearby lake; if the weather is wonderful, you can go for a hike along the Republic Trail.
Man, is there heaps of enjoyable stuff to do in
the Absaroka Range. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a fine choice. At Lake of the Woods you can see Timberline Mountain, unsurprisingly you could also stop by Favonius Lake if you're here; it's not far at
all. Not much precipitation falls here at Lake of the Woods; through May this area sees the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
