Be careful coming to Woods Lake, you might not ever want to return back home again. Brush Bay is not far from Woods Lake at all; near Woods Lake you come across a golf course called Whitefish Lake Golf Club. Through the summer months at Woods Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's; overnight lows       at Woods Lake during the wintertime regularly plunge into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Danny on Memorial National Recreation Trail is always a great adventure, and dry warm beds await you at Grouse Mountain Lodge. Woods Lake gets very little rainfall; June is the wettest month with most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Woods Lake has to offer, you can                  camp at Whitefish RV Park, and a pleasant location for whitewater paddling is Stillwater River. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Les Mason Campground; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Spencer Lake. Near Woods Lake you hit upon the Whitefish Divide-Smokey Range National Recreation Trail which is a glorious hiking trail, and if you're dropping by from Kalispell, you won't be the only one. Brush Creek is a pleasant local stream, and you can go for a hike on the Micho Trail. Flathead River - Middle Fork is a fine whitewater spot in close proximity to Woods Lake.
