Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Absaroka Range. You can run the rapids of Rosebud Creek - West in the vicinity of Wood Lake, and hiking along the Crazy Mountain Trail is glorious fun. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Big Timber is a glorious site to spend a night or       two, and there's whitewater on Stillwater River for all you thrill seekers. High temperatures at Wood Lake all through the summer months are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's while Wood Lake night low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. There's so much to do here at Wood Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Emerald Lake Campground is a                  pleasant place for that; lakes are such serene spots, why not explore Arapooash Lake. Wood Lake is located in the Absaroka Range. Wood Lake lays in the shadow of the Granite Range; going for a hike along the Lake Reno Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. So much amusing stuff in the Absaroka Range, just phenomenal. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Wood Lake has to offer, you can camp at Woodbine Campground, and if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the Crazy Lakes Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you adore the outdoors, you'll adore Wood Lake.
