If you are in this part of Montana make sure to pay a visit to Whitney Lake. High temperatures at Whitney Lake during the months of summer are in the 70's, and the night is quite chillier of course, generally in the 40's. From a rainfall point of view Whitney Lake is a quite normal place; the wettest month of the year is frequently January, that's the one that snows the most; July is the month with the least moisture. the Thompson River Mount Headley Trail. And if that's not sufficient, there's lots more to do right next door to Whitney Lake. Camping at Happy's Inn and Resort is always a good experience.
This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant
spot like Jefferson Meadows here at Whitney Lake is too great to miss, and if you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - St. Regis is a great choice. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Cabinet
Mountains. There are some great whitewater spots on Vermilion River; going for a hike on the Daisy Creek Trail is always a nice adventure.
