What a place this is for outdoors people. You can run the rapids of Flathead River - Middle Fork near Lake West, and the South Boundary Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. Lake West is not the only location close by, Mud Lake is a close by lake; a great location for whitewater paddling is Flathead River - Middle Fork. Yeah, come up here to the Lewis Range for       a great time. A pleasant site to camp here at Lake West is Sundance RV Park and Campground, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Howe Lake Trail. Lake West is a beautiful lake in the Lewis Range. Lake West is frequently a relatively dried up spot; the wettest month of the year is commonly December, that's the one that snows the most, and April meanwhile is the driest month. Be careful coming to the Lewis Range, you might not ever want to return                  home again. Camping at Glacier Campground is always a nice experience, and golf can be played at Glacier View Golf Club. If the weather is wonderful here at Lake West, you can go for a hike along the Columbia Mountain Trail, and Glacier National Park is a great local destination. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Glacier Park/Columbia Falls, and from Lake West you obtain a good sight of Swanberg Mountain. If you need a place to stay Bad Rock B&B is a great choice; if you've had enough of Lake West, Lake Five is close by. Summertime highs at Lake West regularly tend to be in the 70's while night lows are usually in the 40's.
