Upper Reservoir is generally a quite dehydrated site; most of the rain falls through June, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. There are some nice whitewater spots on Big Hole River, and Decker Flats is a wonderful place. For the duration of the long summer days at Upper Reservoir highs are ordinarily in the 70's. Summer overnight       lows drop down to the 40's. During the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Upper Reservoir temperatures plunge to the 0's. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Butte is a great choice; hiking along the Billy Johns Trail is splendid fun. Man, is there a heap of cool stuff to do near Upper Reservoir. A nice nearby hotel is Best Western Butte Plaza Inn; Upper Reservoir is glorious enough to spend more                  than a day at, Roosevelt Campground is a glorious local campground. You're in all probability keen on lakes, Upper Reservoir is one of those nearby, and a nice site is Bear Gulch. If you're visiting Upper Reservoir from Butte-Silver Bow, you won't be the only one, and Upper Reservoir is right by the Brazil Pack Trail. This is a tremendous area for folks who like lakes.
