     You just can't picture the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the Lewis Range has to offer. Not much rain falls here at Upper Kintla Lake; most of the snow falls through December; the driest month of the year is April. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! The Lewis Range rocks! On a delightful day at Upper Kintla Lake you can take a hike along the Boulder Pass Trail, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not have a look at Numa Lake.

   Kintla Lake is a beautiful lake in the Lewis Range. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Big Mountain if you're here, and there's whitewater on Flathead River - Middle Fork for all you thrill seekers. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Bowman Creek Campground, and close by you hit upon the Akokala Lake Trail which is a fine hiking trail.
Camping at Bowman Lake Campground is always a pleasant experience, and a lovely lake
 
               like Long Bow Lake is a glorious place to check out. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the vicinity of Upper Kintla Lake. The Bowman Lake Trail is a nice hiking trail in the neighborhood of Upper Kintla Lake, and you can distinguish Kinnerly Peak from Upper Kintla Lake. Summertime highs at Upper Kintla Lake typically tend to be in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 20's; night lows at Upper Kintla Lake throughout the winter frequently dip into the 0's.

Fabulously beautiful area, dense grizzly population and zero people.  Not too hard to get to crossing Flattop on bits of an obsolete trail from Fifty Mountain, then skirt along the open hills sides near Trapper Peak.  One scary steep hardpan ravine must be crossed where a slip would send you plunging 1000 feet down to Lake Nahsukin.  An axe would be helpful, otherwise just run real fast so your momentum will carry you to good footing on the far side....
