Lakes are such calm sites, why not pop by Numa Lake in close proximity to Upper Kintla Lake, and nearby you hit upon the Boulder Pass Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. Upper Kintla Lake is pretty dried out regularly; the wettest month of the year is frequently December, that's the one that snows the most while April is commonly the driest month. A beautiful lake like Long Bow Lake near Upper                  Kintla Lake is a glorious place to stop at, and Kinnerly Peak can be made out from Upper Kintla Lake.
