This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Dearborn River, and a quick visit to Ming Creek is without doubt a nice idea. This lake is one of the great places here in the Big Belt Mountains. So many cool things to do at Upper Holter Lake, so little time. If you want a splendid time in       the great outdoors just come on up to the Big Belt Mountains. Here at Upper Holter Lake you can see Stony Point. There's so much to do here at Upper Holter Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Departure Point Campground is a perfect place for that. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Upper Holter Lake has to offer, you can camp at Coulter Campground, and if you've had enough of Upper Holter Lake, Hauser Lake is close by. While you're here                  at Upper Holter Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby Helena; hiking along the Backside Trail is good fun. Yep, outdoors fun stuff truly is plentiful here in the Big Belt Mountains. The skiing at Great Divide is perfect, and a wonderful close by hotel is Wingate by Wyndham - Helena. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Upper Holter Lake. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Upper Holter Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A great beach near Upper Holter Lake is Black Sandy Beach; Upper Holter Lake is right by the 1906 Trail. Just can't get enough of Upper Holter Lake. Nearby lakes? Sure, Lake Helena is close to Upper Holter Lake, and going for a hike along the Prospect Shafts Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region.
