    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Montana you can check out Turquoise Lake. Carrot Basin is a splendid location, and not far from Turquoise Lake you'll locate Lomna Lake which is a lovely lake. Get your heart beating on the wonderful whitewater of Madison River. There's so much to do here at Turquoise Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Beaver Creek Campground 2 is a splendid place for that. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Sunspree  
   Resort West Yellowstone Conference.
From Turquoise Lake you acquire a great view of Pika Point, and Big Sky is a great local ski area. Don't leave Turquoise Lake without first going for a hike along the Little Wapiti Creek Trail; a great site for whitewater paddling is Madison River. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Park Condos is a nice choice; going for a hike on the Wapiti Creek Trail is always a great adventure.
For the period
 
               of the warm months at Turquoise Lake highs are usually in the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Turquoise Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Park Lake is in the vicinity; the skiing at Moonlight Basin is tremendous. Turquoise Lake is pretty dried up usually; the month with most of the rain is June; January meanwhile is the driest month.
If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Turquoise Lake. Go for a hike on the Wapiti Ridge Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Turquoise Lake has to offer, you can camp at Cabin Creek Campground.

We stayed at the KOA for 4 nights and enjoyed the area. The KOA staff was helpful giving us directions to trail heads in the Lionshead area and along the Continental Divide. Nice location for this campground. Very scenic and away from touristy West Yellowstone....

There?s this really neat hike a few miles away from us in Big Sky. It starts out near a small pond called Moose Lake, follows a path up some dense forest for a couple of miles, then opens up into these huge rolling meadows surrounded by Cedar Mountain, Pioneer Mountain, and Lone Mountain with a great view of Sphinx Mountain in the distance....
