It's always fun to stop by Trail Lake. High temperatures at Trail Lake all through the months of summer are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 30's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Trail Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. The Clay Butte Trail offers hiking at its best, and get your heart beating on the splendid whitewater of Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. This lake is

If you get bored of Trail Lake, you could also go to close by Spogen Lake, and do put some time aside to spend at Park Rapids while you're here at Trail Lake. Head up to Red Lodge Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, and you can stay the night at Top Of The World Campground. the least moisture. That right there is lots of fun stuff already but it goes on, the Absaroka Range has it all. You can run the rapids of Clarks Fork Yellowstone River right next door to Trail Lake, and there's magnificent hiking
along the Upper Granite Loop Trail. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Trail Lake. A lake nearby is Whitcomb Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Trail Lake; Granite Loop Trail
is a good local trail. Be careful coming to the Absaroka Range, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Beartooth Lake Campground is a nice campground nearby, and Lake Creek is next to Trail Lake and is always a delight to stop at. This lake is so wonderful.
