There's so much to do here at Throop Lake that you need to       camp here for a while, Top Of The World Campground is a splendid site for that; Hidden Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The Absaroka Range is unbeatable! Go for a hike on the Upper Granite Loop Trail, and Clarks Fork Yellowstone River is a fine whitewater spot nearby. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Throop Lake has to offer, you can camp at Beartooth Lake Campground; splendid hiking                  is available along the Clay Butte Trail. Throop Lake is one of the lakes here in the Absaroka Range. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors entertaining things the Absaroka Range has to offer. Do pop by North Hidden Lake near Throop Lake, it's a pretty lake, and Red Lodge Mountain is a glorious local ski area. For the period of the warm days of summer at Throop Lake highs are commonly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 30's.
