A common amount of rain falls here at Throop Lake; most of the rain falls during June, and October meanwhile is the driest month. Be careful coming to Throop Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River, and there's nice hiking along the Granite Loop Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The Absaroka Range is unbeatable! Go for a hike on the Upper Granite Loop Trail, and Clarks Fork Yellowstone River is a fine whitewater spot nearby. near Throop Lake, it's a pretty lake, and Red Lodge Mountain is a glorious local ski area. For the period of the warm days of summer at Throop Lake highs are commonly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 30's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Throop Lake.
