There's splendid hiking along the Boulder Lakes Trail, and Discovery Ski has great slopes and a friendly staff. Thornton Lake is a location that is quite arid mostly; through June this area sees the most rain while February is generally the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Racetrack Campground is a nice spot to camp, and the scenery at Thornton Lake Dam is beautiful.       Having a glorious time at Thornton Lake is easy. Lakes are such calm spots, why not stop at Hunters Lake near Thornton Lake. Summertime highs at Thornton Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Throughout the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's, and overnight lows at Thornton Lake through the wintertime regularly fall into the 10's. The Long Canyon Trail offers hiking at its best, and Rodeway Inn Deer Lodge                  is a wonderful site to get some rest.
