This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Lost Creek Campground if you're here at Thornton Lake, and Thornton Lake is a good lake nearby. Lakes are such calm places, why not stop at Hunters Lake in the vicinity of Thornton Lake, and you can have a fine hiking adventure along the Long Canyon Trail. Around Thornton Lake you don’t get a lot of rain;       the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. This place is peerless, just explore all the enjoyable stuff to do close to Thornton Lake. Hiking along the Boulder Lakes Trail is wonderful fun. During the months of summer at Thornton Lake highs are generally in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Thornton Lake                  all through the wintertime mostly descend into the 10's.
