Dollar Lake is a lake nearby, and Big Mountain is a very popular ski area around here. Just can't get enough of Thornberg Lake. Golf can be played at Whitefish Lake Golf Club. If you come at the right time of year, Flathead River - Middle Fork offers some great whitewater; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Blacktail Mountain. Thornberg Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than       a day at, Les Mason Campground is a wonderful local campground, and don't leave Thornberg Lake without first going for a hike along the Whitefish Divide-Smokey Range National Recreation Trail. For the duration of the summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Thornberg Lake. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Thornberg Lake                  plunge into the 10's. If you need a place to stay Kandahar Lodge is a great choice; camping at Whitefish RV Park is always a splendid experience. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Thornberg Lake; Micho Trail is a perfect local trail; a trip to nearby Brush Bay is very relaxing. It's a great idea to pop by Beaver Creek, it's near Thornberg Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by Woods Lake. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Kristianna Mountain Homes is a great spot to spend a night or two, and good hiking is available along the Danny on Memorial National Recreation Trail. It is very dried out here at Thornberg Lake generally; most of the rain falls during June while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. But wait, there's more to do next to Thornberg Lake.
