Take a hike on the Snowbank Trail, and a great nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Yellowstone North. If you get bored of Thompson Lake, you could also stop by nearby Charlie White Lake, and Eagle Creek Campground is a nice local campground. At Thompson Lake you don’t see much rain; the month with most of the rain is May, and February is the month with the least moisture. So many entertaining things in the Absaroka Range, just remarkable.       Lonesome Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and if you came for an overnight stay Snowbank Campground is a glorious place to camp. Hiking along the Ash Mountain Trail is tremendous fun; Super 8 Gardiner/Yellowstone Park Area is a tremendous site to get some rest. The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful. So much entertaining stuff to do here at Thompson Lake, too tremendous to be true. Going for a hike along the Jardine-Hellroaring Trail                  will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Thompson Lake, and the night is rather chillier of course, commonly in the 50's.
