That right there is a heap of cool things already but it goes on, the Absaroka Range has it all. Don't leave Thompson Lake without first going for a hike along the Ash Mountain Trail, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Yellowstone North is a great location to spend a night or two. Thompson Lake gets very little rainfall; through May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. There are brilliant       places to look at along the Snowbank Trail. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Gardiner is a good choice, and if you came to camp Eagle Creek Campground is a great location to do that. All through the summertime at Thompson Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's; nighttime lows throughout the winter for Thompson Lake                  tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Thompson Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Snowbank Campground is a magnificent location for that; great hiking is available along the Jardine-Hellroaring Trail.
