After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Gardiner is a wonderful place to spend a night or two; since you're here, you could also have a look at delightful Lonesome Pond. For the period of the warm days of summer here at Thompson Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into       the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's with temperatures at Thompson Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Jardine-Hellroaring Trail, and Charlie White Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. Good hiking is available along the Ash Mountain Trail, and Comfort Inn Yellowstone North is a glorious site to get some rest. This place, the Absaroka Range, has                  so much outdoors exciting stuff. Don't leave Thompson Lake without first going for a hike along the Snowbank Trail, and why not camp at Snowbank Campground while you're here at Thompson Lake. Man, is there heaps of exciting things to do in the neighborhood of Thompson Lake. Eagle Creek Campground is a good local campground.
