Kidney Lake is a delightful lake next to Thiel Lake, and get your heart pumping on the brilliant whitewater of Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. This lake is so wonderful. There's glorious hiking along the Upper Granite Loop Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. If you want a tremendous       time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Thiel Lake. The Granite Loop Trail offers hiking at its best; lakes are such calm sites, why not check out North Hidden Lake. That right there is loads of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the Absaroka Range has it all. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Clay Butte Trail; some of the water nearby flows, like Lake Creek. Be careful coming to the Absaroka Range, you might not ever wanna go back home                  again. A short tour to Park Rapids is always worthwhile. There's so much to do here at Thiel Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Beartooth Lake Campground is a good site for that. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Red Lodge Mountain is near Thiel Lake, and if you came to camp Top Of The World Campground is a fine spot to do that. From a rain point of view Thiel Lake is a pretty common site; most of the rain falls throughout June while October is ordinarily the driest month. High temperatures at Thiel Lake through the warmest time of the year are in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 30's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 20's with temperatures at Thiel Lake dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights.
