At Tamarack Lake through the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. magnificent time in the Bitterroot Range is simple. A lake nearby is Hart Lake; Lost Trail has great slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Hamilton Inn is a pleasant site to get some rest, and camping
is available at Boulder Creek Campground. It is very dried up here at Tamarack Lake mostly; most of the rain falls throughout May, and July is when it's the driest. After a long day outdoors Townhouse Inn of Hamilton is a great
site to spend a night or two, and on a gorgeous day you obtain a magnificent sight of Sugarloaf Peak from Tamarack Lake.

Tag Alder Lake
 | 17 miles away I venture up to Tag Alder every year. It is getting more and more difficult to get up there because of the new growth of trees from the fires of 2000. Once there it is beautiful lake. Another half hour hike up and you will be at the summit of the mountain. There is a nice camp area on North shore. Fishing is best in late spring using small spinners or powerbait.... |
