There's so much to do here at Sweeney Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Charles Waters Memorial Campground is a fine location for that, and if you come at the right time of year, Brushy Fork offers some nice whitewater. All through the warm days of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Sweeney Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down       into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are commonly in the 20's, and nighttime lows throughout the wintertime for Sweeney Lake tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Sweeney Lake is right by the Sweeney Ridge Trail. This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Hamilton, and hiking along the Mill Creek Trail is tremendous fun. Sweeney Lake gets very little rainfall; May is when you get                  the most rain here, and October on the other hand is the driest. So much entertaining stuff in the Bitterroot Range, just inspiring. Do visit Mills Lake next to Sweeney Lake, it's a charming lake; after a long day outdoors Lolo-Days Inn Missoula South/Blue Mountain is a nice spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Sweeney Lake has to offer, you can camp at Fort Fizzle Campground, and Pyramid Buttes can be distinguished from Sweeney Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Bitterroot Range. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Kootenai Creek, and do take a hike on the Saint Mary Peak Trail. Bass Lake Dam is an interesting thing to check out; you'll locate a scenic lake called Bass Lake.
