Here at Summit Lake you can see Gallatin Peak, and hey, Gotta ski right? Moonlight Basin is a nice location to do that. High temperatures at Summit Lake during the summer months are in the 80's while night lows are generally in the 50's. During the winter highs are frequently in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Summit Lake dip into the 10's. Summit Lake is frequently a rather dried out site; May is the month that gets
the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. What a place this is for outdoors people. You'll meet a lot of folks from Bozeman here, and going for a hike on the Wapiti Creek Trail is always a good adventure.
Castle Rock Inn is a glorious campground nearby. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Big Sky; a lake close by is Thompson Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Places like Bear Basin are fine to explore, and nearby you discover the Lightning Creek

Trail which is a great hiking trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Chilled Lakes is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and after a long day outdoors Big Sky Resort is a nice spot to spend a night or two. Summit Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Elkhorn is a good place to camp nearby, and dry warm beds await you at Arrowhead. Soar down the rapids of Gallatin River in a kayak; there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Eldridge Trail.

There?s this really neat hike a few miles away from us in Big Sky. It starts out near a small pond called Moose Lake, follows a path up some dense forest for a couple of miles, then opens up into these huge rolling meadows surrounded by Cedar Mountain, Pioneer Mountain, and Lone Mountain with a great view of Sphinx Mountain in the distance....
