A visit to Summit Lake is always a good idea. Through the summertime months at Summit Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Summit Lake. Lakes are such serene locations, why not explore Beehive Lake near Summit Lake, and there are plenty of people from Bozeman here. Very beautiful

This lake is so wonderful. Float down the rapids of Gallatin River in a kayak; on a beautiful day you acquire a good panorama of Gallatin Peak from Summit Lake. At Summit Lake you don’t see much rainfall; during May this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is February.

great time. There is a great hiking trail close to Summit Lake called the Wapiti Creek Trail; a magnificent spot to camp here at Summit Lake is Elkhorn. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Lodge at Big Sky is a great
location to spend a night or two, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Lightning Creek Trail. Summit Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Castle Rock Inn is a perfect local campground; you'll never forgive
yourself if you don’t go skiing at Moonlight Basin if you're here.
A glorious place like Bear Basin here at Summit Lake is too good to miss; if you need a place to stay River Rock Lodge is a great choice.
