For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Stoyanoff Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. Cool Reservoir is close by. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Doggett Reservoir is in close proximity to Stoyanoff Lake, and there are plenty of folks from Great Falls here at Stoyanoff Lake. Stoyanoff Lake is good
enough to spend more than a day at, Skidway Campground is a good local campground; close by you stumble on the Divide Trail which is a great hiking trail. Stoyanoff Lake is a location that is pretty dried up ordinarily; through May this area sees the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest.

 | 12 miles away I'm a land owner on the Tenderfoot and I wouldn't recomend trying to float it. It is a fun place to go tubing and have short floats but it isn't a good place for an extended trip. There are numerous log jams and gravel bars to navigate. On the other hand The Smith River is awesome.... |
