All through the summer months highs here at Stone Lakes get into the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 30's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Stone Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. Stone Lakes is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Steel Creek Campground is a wonderful       local campground, and you can go for a hike on the Copper Creek Trail. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things in the Pioneer Mountains. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Discovery Ski since you're here; fine hiking is available along the Hiline Trail. Going for a hike on the Grassy Lake Trail is always a nice adventure. Lakes? Sure, Schwinegar Lake is in the vicinity. Camping at Fishtrap Campground is always                  a great experience, and the summit of Shaw Mountain can be made out from Stone Lakes. At Stone Lakes you don’t see much rain; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is February. This lake is located in the wonderful Pioneer Mountains.
