This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel Big Timber. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Star Lake. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 30's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Star Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. Good hiking is available along the Pilot Creek Trail, and Star Lake is a great place to visit for more than       one day, Colter Campground is a great place to camp nearby. This lake is one of the great places here in the Absaroka Range. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Star Lake; June is the wettest month with most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors fun things the area near Star Lake has to offer. You'll come across a delightful lake called Dick Lake near Star Lake; hiking is a popular thing to do                  around Star Lake; North Crandall Trail is a tremendous local trail. Don't leave Star Lake without first going for a hike along the Republic Trail, and you can stay the night at Soda Butte Campground. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The Absaroka Range is peerless! A gorgeous lake like Companion Lake near Star Lake is a brilliant site to stop at, and on a gorgeous day you obtain a splendid sight of Mount Fox from Star Lake. Now, you may feel that's lots but there's even more amusing things to do here in the Absaroka Range. There are some great whitewater spots on Clarks Fork Yellowstone, and some interesting geology is available here, Alp Rock is right here. This lake is so wonderful.
