In Montana there are many beautiful lakes, Square Lake is one of them. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Square Lake; most of the snow falls all through January, and the driest month of the year is July. Square Lake is a brilliant site to visit for more than one day, Silver Dollar Inn Campground is a brilliant site to camp nearby, and striking scenery and glorious skiing is what you obtain at Lookout Pass. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Square Lake has to offer, you can camp at Conrad Crossing Campground. This lake is so wonderful. the dark hours in the winter at Square Lake temperatures drop to the 10's. So much cool stuff to do at Square Lake, so little time. Golf can be played at Trestle Creek Golf Course, and Super 8 Motel - St. Regis is a good site to get
some rest. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Bitterroot Range. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Bed Springs; if the weather is delightful, you obtain a fine view of Ward Peak from Square Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Do check out Hub Lake right next door to Square Lake, it's a charming lake, and don't forget to take a magnificent little spree to Bear Spring Creek. Square Lake is one of the lakes here in the Bitterroot
Range. Don't leave Square Lake without first going for a hike along the Storm Peak Trail, and St. Joe River is a great whitewater spot close by.

The local ski pioneers chose Lookout Pass because of the abundant snowfall and excellent snow quality which they could access by jumping on the Northern Pacific railcars as they proceeded east from the mining towns of Wallace and Mullan, Idaho.
