Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Mammoth Hot Springs; there's whitewater on Yellowstone River for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. There is a nice hiking trail near Sportsman Lake called the Sportsman Lake Trail. Going for a hike on the Fawn Pass Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and why not camp at Yankee Jim Campground and Picnic Area since you're       here at Sportsman Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Yellowstone Park North Travelodge is a great choice; there are some delightful whitewater spots on Mulherin Creek. At Sportsman Lake you don’t see much rain; during May this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Through the warmest time of the year, highs regularly are in the 80's at Sportsman Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 50's.                  For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Sportsman Lake.
