    What a nice lake South One Horse Lake is. Lolo-Days Inn Missoula South/Blue Mountain is a delightful place to get some rest, and if you've had enough of South One Horse Lake, Reed Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything South One Horse Lake has to offer, you can camp at Fort Fizzle Campground, and there are splendid locations to explore along the Carlton Lake Trail. If you want a perfect time in the great  
   outdoors, just come on down to South One Horse Lake. Swamps like Meadow Creek are fun to explore, and going for a hike on the Mill Creek Trail is always a glorious adventure.
Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is abundant here in the Bitterroot Range. Nearby lakes? Sure, North One Horse Lake is near South One Horse Lake; whitewater paddling is great on Kootenai Creek. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Missoula/Brooks Street is a great location to
 
               spend a night or two; there is a perfect hiking trail nearby called the Sweeney Ridge Trail.
There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Bitterroot Range. There's so much to do here at South One Horse Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Charles Waters Memorial Campground is a pleasant location for that, and at Duffy Lake Dam near South One Horse Lake there are some attention-grabbing things to see. This lake is one of the great places here in the Bitterroot Range. This lake is so wonderful. Here at South One Horse Lake you can distinguish Lolo Peak, and paddling on Mill Creek is so much fun.
Throughout the summer months here at South One Horse Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are regularly in the 20's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at South One Horse Lake fall into the 10's. South One Horse Lake gets very little rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and October is when it's the driest.

I venture up to Tag Alder every year. It is getting more and more difficult to get up there because of the new growth of trees from the fires of 2000. Once there it is beautiful lake. Another half hour hike up and you will be at the summit of the mountain. There is a nice camp area on North shore. Fishing is best in late spring using small spinners or powerbait....
