High                  temperatures at South Kootenai Lake through the summer are in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. Any time is a delightful time at South Kootenai Lake if you love the outdoors. There's great hiking along the Saint Mary Peak Trail; a nice spot to camp here at South Kootenai Lake is Fort Fizzle Campground. This lake is so wonderful. From South Kootenai Lake you acquire a fine vista of Bass Peak, and a beautiful lake like Middle Fork Lakes is a magnificent place to pop by.
