Slate Lake is a lake worth visiting. Not much precipitation falls here at Slate Lake; the month with most of the rain is May, and July on the other hand is the driest. Stay the night at Little Boulder Bay Campground, and nearby you hit upon the Lookout Mountain Trail which is a nice hiking trail. The Bitterroot Range scenery is always beautiful. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Bitterroot Range. The skiing

| | at Lost Trail is perfect, and there are wonderful spots to look at along the Trapper Peak Trail. What a spot this is for outdoors people. Slate Lake is a great location to visit for more than one day, Boulder Creek Campground is a great location to camp nearby, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Hamilton Inn is a great spot to spend a night or two. can make out Piquett Mountain. That right there is lots of cool things already but it goes on, the Bitterroot Range has it all. You're probably hooked on lakes, Piquett Lake is one of those close by, and going for a hike on the Divide
Trail is always a delightful adventure. Summertime highs at Slate Lake generally tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Slate Lake.
