Going for a hike on the Gould Helmville Trail is always a good adventure, and there's some flowing water close by, Hat Creek is a stream you can stop by during your stay. For the period of the warmest time of the year, highs commonly are in the 80's at Slate Lake while overnight lows are generally in the 40's. Helena like to hang out nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Echo Valley Campground is a nice spot to camp, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Great Divide. There
is a good hiking trail in the vicinity of Slate Lake called the Sweeney Creek Ecology Trail, and if you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn Deer Lodge is a perfect choice.
