     There's whitewater on Yellowstone River for all you adrenaline kick people, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Fawn Pass Trail. Going for a hike along the Sportsman Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. At Shooting Star Lake you don’t see much rainfall; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is February. Through the warm days of summer, highs commonly  
   are in the 80's at Shooting Star Lake; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Shooting Star Lake tend to be in the 10's.
Carbella Campground is a great campground nearby, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Mammoth Hot Springs is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Shooting
 
               Star Lake, you'll find Sedge Lake which is a delightful lake, and dry warm beds await you at Travelodge Yellowstone Park North. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Shooting Star Lake. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Crag Lake, and there are some great whitewater spots on Mulherin Creek.
Sawtooth Mountain can be distinguished from Shooting Star Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Yankee Jim Campground and Picnic Area is a good site to camp.
