You simply should love the Bitterroot Range. Shelf Lake is a glorious       place to visit for more than one day, Little Boulder Bay Campground is a glorious place to camp nearby, and there are other locations here than Shelf Lake, for example Slate Lake. So much cool stuff close to Shelf Lake, definitely extraordinary. Very scenic scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Lost Trail, and if you need a place to stay Best Western Hamilton Inn is a great choice.
