Don't leave Shelf Lake without first going for a hike along the Gunsight Trail, and camping at Spotted Bear Campground is always a nice experience. An average amount of precipitation falls at Shelf Lake; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July meanwhile is the driest month. You're in all probability       hooked on lakes, Gunsight Lake is one of those nearby, and there's some flowing water nearby, Milk Creek is a stream you can visit while here. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Shelf Lake.
