Shay Reservoir is right by the Bootlegger Trail, and not far from Shay Reservoir you'll locate Mc Carters Lake which is a lovely lake. For the period of the summertime at Shay Reservoir highs are generally in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. During the wintertime the highs are regularly       in the 30's while Shay Reservoir nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Shay Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out. There's so much to do here at Shay Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, North Bootlegger Campground is a tremendous spot for that. At Shay Reservoir you don’t see much rainfall; through the month of May you get the most rain around here; February is the month with the                  least moisture. Stay the night at Galata Motel and RV Campground, and if you yearn for a little side journey, try Cameron Coulee.
