A visit to Shadow Lake is always a good idea. There's so much to do here at Shadow Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Valley Garden Campground is a fine location for that, and if you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Bozeman. Do pop by Lost Lake near Shadow Lake, it's a striking lake, and there's whitewater on Gallatin River for all you thrill seekers. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Lightning Creek Trail, and dry warm beds

| | await you at Beaverhead. Visit South Fork Jack Creek since you're here at Shadow Lake. Going for a hike on the Eldridge Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and why not head up to Big Sky and strap some skis to your feet. Around Shadow Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; June is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is January. This lake is so wonderful.
