Red Lion Colonial Hotel is a magnificent spot to get some rest, and Helena Campground and RV Park is a good local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Burnt Mountain is a peak you can catch a glimpse of from Scott Reservoir, and Scott Reservoir is right by the Prospect Shafts Trail. For the duration of the warm months at Scott Reservoir highs are mostly in the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the       50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's; night lows in the 0's for Scott Reservoir. Not much rain falls here at Scott Reservoir; most of the rain falls during June while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the area in the vicinity of Scott Reservoir has to offer. Hogan Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting, and Scott Reservoir is                  a great place to visit for more than one day, Lakeside Resort and Marina is a great place to camp nearby. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Backside Trail; if you're visiting from Helena, you won't be the only one.
