If you come at the right time of year, Kootenai River offers some good whitewater, and obviously Falls Creek flows through this neighborhood. And that's not all you can do here at Schoolhouse Lake. If you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn Libby is a glorious choice; why not camp at La-vi RV Park if you're here at       Schoolhouse Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Crowell Trail; Lake Creek Dam is a delightful spot. This lake is so wonderful. There are some nice whitewater spots on Yaak River; a brilliant close by hotel is Best Western Kootenai River Inn Casino & Spa. Near Schoolhouse Lake you stumble on the Grouse Lake Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail, and Dorr Skeels Campground is a pleasant local campground. Going for a hike on the Pulpit                  Mountain National Recreation Trail is always a splendid adventure; there are other places here than Schoolhouse Lake, for example Troy City Reservoir. Schoolhouse Lake is a good place of normal rainfall; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. For the period of the long summer days at Schoolhouse Lake highs are typically in the 80's, and the night is somewhat cooler of course, usually in the 40's.
