Schmitz Lakes gets very little rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly June, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is July. Summertime at Schmitz Lakes comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Through the wintertime       highs are typically in the 30's; night lows at Schmitz Lakes during the winter usually sink into the 10's. This is a glorious area for folks who like lakes. Dry Fork Reservoir is a lake nearby, and camping at Shady Grove RV Park is always a great experience. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are splendid; Upper Dry Fork Reservoir is a lake that's right next door to Schmitz Lakes, and on a splendid day you can take a hike along the Revais Creek Trail. There                  is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Schmitz Lakes called the McCormick Creek Trail, and camping is available at Rainbow Lake Campground. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the area close to Schmitz Lakes has to offer.
