Go for a hike on the Holland Falls National Recreation Trail. Lakes? Sure, Necklace Lakes is nearby. An average amount of precipitation falls at Sapphire Lake; December is the month that gets the most snow, and the driest of the months is July. Sapphire Lake is one of the lakes here in the Lewis Range. At Sapphire Lake all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. High temperatures through       the winter are normally in the 30's, and overnight lows through the wintertime for Sapphire Lake tend to be in the 10's. Don't leave Sapphire Lake without first going for a hike along the Foothills Trail, and the top of Carmine Peak is easily spotted from Sapphire Lake. If only every location had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great globe it would be. Holland Lake Campground is a good campground nearby. So many enjoyable things to do in the Lewis                  Range, not enough time. Good hiking is available along the Holland Gordon Trail, and Pendent Lake is a tremendous lake close by.
