There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Blackfoot River, and the Pyramid Pass Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close by. High temperatures at Salmon Lake throughout the months of summer are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Salmon Lake. Russell Gates Memorial Campground       is a great campground nearby; going for a hike on the Morrell Falls National Recreation Trail is always a wonderful adventure. Salmon Lake is a location that is relatively dried out typically; the month with most of the snow is January, and the driest month of the year is July. You're sure to stumble upon some friendly folks from Missoula here, and there's some flowing water close by, Fish Creek is a stream you can go to while you're here. If you came for                  an overnight stay Salmon Lake Campground is a nice place to camp, and there is a glorious hiking trail close by called the Blackfoot Divide Trail. So much amusing stuff to do at Salmon Lake, so little time.
