    Go to Saint Paul Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Saint Paul Lake is one of the lakes here in the Cabinet Mountains. Saint Paul Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Trout Creek Campground is a brilliant local campground; hiking is a popular thing to do around Saint Paul Lake; Engle Peak Trail is a glorious local trail. Saint Paul Lake is a good location of typical precipitation; through the month of November you get the most rain around  
   here while July is generally the driest month.
This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Kootenai River, and why not take a little journey to Isabella Creek while you're here. This is a brilliant neighborhood for people who like lakes. Isabella Lake is a lake in close proximity, and the Old Daly Trail offers hiking at its best. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! Saint Paul Lake is unbeatable! What would winter be without some
 
               skiing at Turner Mountain; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Cliff Lake.
Just can't get enough of the Cabinet Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Engle Lake Trail, and Milwaukee Pass is without doubt a wonderful place to stop at. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Cabinet Mountains. There's so much to do here at Saint Paul Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Howard Lake Campground is a fine place for that, and Rodeway Inn Libby is a great location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. You get a brilliant vista of Bald Eagle Peak from Saint Paul Lake.
Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Saint Paul Lake. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Saint Paul Lake.

Lookout Pass is the original Idaho ski area having documented skiing and a home made rope tow in 1935. The local ski pioneers chose Lookout Pass because of the abundant snowfall and excellent snow quality which they could access by jumping on the Northern Pacific railcars as they proceeded east from the mining towns of Wallace and Mullan, Idaho. These ski adventurers would hop off the railcars at the summit and utilize a highway storage shed as a warming hut that they nicknamed ''Buzzards Roost''.
Lookout Pass has operated every winter season since 1935 and has a reputation for legendary powder, earliest openings, and longest season in the region. Average snowfall is 400'' of light Northern Rockies snow. The ''Affordable Family Ski Area'' has recently received a major expansion approval and has initiated the first three phases of a five phase Master Development Plan....
