The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful. A magnificent close by hotel is Comfort Inn Red Lodge. Lakes? Sure, Smethurst Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Red Lodge Mountain nearby, and M-K Campground is a splendid local campground. At Rydberg Lake during the months of summer highs are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs       are in the 30's with temperatures at Rydberg Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Rydberg Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Rock Creek, and Hellroaring Plateau is a pretty spot any time of year. If you come at the right time of year, Clarks Fork Yellowstone River offers some brilliant whitewater, and why not camp at Buena                  Vista Campground while you're here at Rydberg Lake. These mountains rock, just check out all the entertaining things to do in the Absaroka Range. While you're here at Rydberg Lake you can take a hike along the Beartooth Loop National Recreation Trail, and if you need a location to stay Yodeler Motel is a good choice. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Absaroka Range. On a splendid day at Rydberg Lake you can take a hike along the Custer National Forest Trail; not far from Rydberg Lake you'll stumble on Daly Lake which is a scenic lake. The amount of precipitation that falls at Rydberg Lake is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful.
